MeatFest 2024

Event Description

MeatFest, presented by Pelkin’s Smokey Meat Market, is back Saturday, May 18th, 2024!  Weather permitting, this will be an indoor/outdoor event with over 50,000 square feet of food and fun to explore! New this year: VIP Early Entry! 1 hour early at 11a.m. and a giveaway included!  General Admission entry is 12p.m. People’s Choice ticket includes General Admission tickets (12pm entry). People's Choice ticket holders will try ribs from the competitors and choose their favorite.

  • Indoor cooking demos by Chef Fabian of Cedar & Sage and the Team from Pelkin’s Smokey Meat Market on our main stage.
  • Outdoor cooking demos by Earth Sense Energy Systems
  • Indoor interactive area with activities from Bountiful Board, Chef Dan and Chef Selena Darrow, Executive Director, Rooted In Inc. 
  • Rib Smoking Competition sanctioned by The Meat Smoking Club of Wisconsin – People’s Choice ticket holders will judge and crown a winner.  Our celebrity panel will also choose a winner. Turn in time is 3:30 p.m. with judging immediately to follow. Currently celebrity judges include: Shotgun from Y100, Dennis Pelkin, Scott Nardi with more to be announced asap.
  • Mischief & Magic will have balloon animals and face painting
  • Mad Dog & Merrill will be doing live cooking demos at their booth.

Meat Smoking Competition

                The Meat Smoking Club of Wisconsin has sanctioned this year’s amateur competition.  They will be on site to facilitate the competition.  This is for backyard bbq-ers and cooks of all skill levels!  There will be prizes in two categories. The People’ Choice, in which a select number of ticket holders will sample and choose 1st and 2nd place winners for prizes and the Prize Money round, which will be voted on by our celebrity panel with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.  Competitors must provide 4 racks of St. Louis-style ribs from a licensed establishment and must bring all of their own smokers and cooking materials.  There are limited spots in the competition, so those interested should email Amy Shadian at amy.shadian@pmiwi.com.
