ASHWAUBENON - After 18 months and $93 million, Resch Expo is ready to go.

Brown County dignitaries and Green Bay area tourism officials cut a ceremonial ribbon Wednesday to mark completion of the 125,000-square-foot event and exhibition hall at the corner of Lombardi Avenue and South Oneida Street. The building replaced the Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena and Shopko Hall, both of which were demolished in early 2019.

The new building's main draw is an open exhibition space that is expected to attract trade shows, sporting events and large meetings. The space can also be subdivided into three exhibit halls. That space is complemented by six breakout suites on the second floor, an outdoor plaza with room for 1,600, gathering areas on the first and second floors, and concession spaces to serve indoor and outdoor crowds.

The Brown County Board of Supervisors will hold its regular monthly meeting in Resch Expo tonight. The first consumer show booked into the new building is the Green Bay Boat Show, scheduled for Feb. 12-14.The first trade show scheduled in Resch Expo is the Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association's annual Great Lakes Logging & Heavy Equipment Expo, Sept. 8-10, 2022
